what have you done to learn how to test?

I write my dairy in vivid passion. I have a hobby of writing the statement of the day .But i don't worry about making whatever i write perfect. Cautiously, I want to present you memoir of my testing .
In my post graduation i started implementing process of note-making of everything i read. This made me participate in seminars and paper-presentations. This made me teach what ever i learn to my friends.I do it regularly for my favorite subjects. For that i use to collect real-world stories to link to concept i teach to make it interesting .But, at that time i don't know what is testing. It is just a concept are a good paper to present .I even came to know testing as it is part of software engineering subject,my favorite.
As part of my Campus Selection i came to refer Testing in some experienced resumes.I asked my friend's brother about testing. He is a Test-Engineer. He guided me to learn it before i enter into my Project.I collected some information for my project work. But i don't have knowledge on it only terms of testing. After that i joined in an institute Mind Q to learn testing. I came back with the same concepts but little industrial experiences of tutor. He also told me personally to refer to sites like StickyMinds.com, SoftwareTestingHelp.com, Onesteptesting.com. When i was through Softwaretestinghelp - i came across Pradeep Soundarajan blog which has a presentation on "Does testing improve Quality?" and some real-world stories. The most interesting one was a story of two poor boys trying to take some food from dustbin and pradeep stopped them and promised them he will get some food .They are on the way to near by hotel but when pradeep turned back he was surprised to see the kids carrying food they took from dustbin. He asked them why they did so. They replied that “Shops may be closed ,he may not be interested to buy then they will have atleast that food” .
Earlier i hate shopping or going to market as i worried about items i bring which have no quality. Later i started testing goods or items i purchase. For that i need to know" What i have to check while i purchase?".For that one great experience is Sony Ericson w320i mobile .I went to showroom with my friend and started asking general questions about its features then i asked him to show demo of it. he showed some features. I asked him shall i test .Actually i decided to buy Nokia Xpress music 5310.I am not interested in Sony Ericson 320i so i started testing it repeatedly i came to Know that its keypad is not comfortable for user to type messages faster, ear phones provided has small wire to use directly without FM antenna connected. Its battery backup is low only one day. Loud speaker has clarity but amplitude is low when compared to Nokia Express .This made me to buy two more mobiles for my friends as they liked my work and request to choose a good mobile for them.
